Note: For now, customer registration is only used for transfers inbound to China. It is not required when you send transfers to other countries.

Before making a transfer inbound to China, the Customer needs to conduct validations and submit required documents according to regulations. The Partner must provide the required documents to WorldFirst(Alipay) and complete the Customer registration process.

Workflow

The following figure illustrates the customer registration process for inbound transfers to China:

Procedure

Step 1. Send photocopies of documents to WorldFirst(Alipay)

According to China's compliance requirements, merchants need to submit photocopies of some certifications.

For enterprise merchants, a photocopy of the business license is required. For individual merchants, a photocopy of the ID card is required.

Partners can use the submitAttachment API to submit photocopy files to WorldFirst(Alipay).

Step 2. Register the customer

The process has the following steps:

1. Register the Customer with the registerCustomer API. More precisely, register the customer information in the customer field.
2. WorldFirst(Alipay) accepts and processes the request. More precisely, WorldFirst(Alipay) indicates the status of the registration process in the registerDetail.registerStatus field in the request.
3. The Partner can inquire about the result of the registration in Step 3. Alternatively, the Partner can wait for the WorldFirst(Alipay) notification about the registration result, as described in Step 4.

Step 3. Inquiry the registration result

Once the Partner submits the registration request, Partners can use the inquiryRegisterCustomer API to query the registration result.

The process has the following steps:

1. Partners send the inquiry to WorldFirst(Alipay) about the registration result.
2. WorldFirst(Alipay) responses to the Partner about the result of the registration.

Step 4. Receive registration notifications

Once the customer registration process is completed, WorldFirst(Alipay) notifies the Partner with the notifyRegisterCustomer API. The Partner can forward the registration result to the customer.
