How it works
For a Partner to process payout requests from Customers with WorldFirst(Alipay), the Partner needs to undergo the following workflow:
Customer registration process
Figure 1. Customer registration process
Note: For now, customer registration is only used for transfers inbound to China. It is not required when you send transfers to other countries.
The graphic illustrates the Customer registration process with the following steps:
- To collect money with WorldFirst(Alipay), the Customer needs to log in to the Partner's website and submit a registration request with beneficiary information such as photocopies of ID cards.
- The Partner forwards the information to WorldFirst(Alipay) for verification with the submitAttachment API. WorldFirst(Alipay) returns the Partner with the URLs of the submitted attachments.
- The Partner makes a Customer registration request to WorldFirst(Alipay) with the registerCustomer API. WorldFirst(Alipay) accepts the request.
- The Partner can either wait for the registration result notification or inquire about the result with the inquiryRegisterCustomer API.
- WorldFirst(Alipay) notifies the Partner about the result as soon as the registration process is completed with the notifyRegisterCustomer API.
Customer fund transfer process
Figure 2. Customer fund transfer process
The graphic illustrates the Customer fund transfer process with the following steps:
Step 1. Complete pre-transfer prerequisites:
Before launching a transfer, a Partner might need to complete the following steps:
- The Partner needs to make prefunding deposits prior to monetary transfers.
- The Partner needs to contact WorldFirst(Alipay) and make offline deposits to a preallocated bank account.
- After making the prefunding deposits, the Partner needs to inquire about the prefunding balance with the inquiryBalance API.
- Once WorldFirst(Alipay) receives the prefunding deposits, WorldFirst(Alipay) notifies the Partner with the notifyBalance API.
- (For transfers inbound to China only) Submit trade review
- This step concerns only the CNY scenario or Customers who make transfers inbound to China. The Partner might need to submit related information about the trade order. The Partner needs to complete the trade review for regulatory purposes, and gains additional benefits such as increasing the seller's RMB withdrawal quota.
- (For transfers inbound to China only) Check available transfer quota
- This step concerns only the CNY scenario or Customers who make transfers inbound to China. The Partner might need to check the available transfer quota of a certain currency (e.g. CNY) before the Customer can draft a transfer request.
- (Optional) Inquire about card elements
- The Partner can inquire about the rules with regard to the card elements and apply the rules to the Customer's card.
Step 2. Transfer funds with WorldFirst(Alipay):
- A Customer initiates a transfer request to the Partner.
- The Partner needs to call the inquiryBalance API again to ensure sufficient prefunding balance.
- (For cross-currency transfers only) The Partner can initiate a request for currency conversion. The Partner can inquire about the currency exchange rate with the inquiryQuote API.
- The Partner calls the transfer API to create a transfer.
- The Partner calls the inquiryTransfer API to inquire about the transfer result.
- WorldFirst(Alipay) notifies the Partner about the transfer result with the notifyTransfer API. The notification is asynchronous.
